Personal Talker

These personal talkers are great for teaching your Rett Girl to shake her head for no or nod for yes.  Place your picture symbol in the pocket and record a yes/ no message on each.  Show your Rett Girl each picture and press the play button so she can hear each.  When asking her a yes/no question put the yes talker under her chin and the no talker on the side of her cheek and let her know that they are there.  If she answers “yes” to a question touch  her chin with the yes talker then push the play button so she can hear the “yes”, likewise if she answers “no” to a question touch her cheek with the no talker then push the play button so she can hear the “no”.  Repetition is the key so keep at it and look for her responses.  Her yes may not be a full head nod but maybe she will just put her chin down and a no may not be a full head shake but maybe it’s a look away.  Keep at it, being able to answer yes/no questions is life changing
