Bamboo Brace

Great Armbraces for our girls!

Submitted by: Sue Workman PT, MA

My husband and I are both pediatric physical therapists.  Although we developed “The Bamboo Brace” originally for children with cerebral palsy and developmental delays it is also being used within the Rett population and we are getting great feedback. Would love to hear if it helps your child. They fit nicely under clothing, have a non-slip surface and have adjustable stays that can allow for the brace to be either more rigid or more flexible depending on your child’s needs.  CPSIA compliant and FDA approved.  For more information or to contact us with any questions please go to:  www.thebamboobrace.com  or www.professionaltherapies.com

  • We love the Bambooo Braces. They feel natural, with five different ranges of strength to not allow the elbow to bend. Alexandra uses her Bamboo Braces for painting and sensory activities. She is wearing gloves to not put her hands in her mouth, but after many years of wear she is getting acclimated to the feel of the acrylic . Discovered the Bamboo Braces last years trough RettGirl, the company has improved the design and size to fit our girls needs. Should be and are for us of great needs for sensory experiences please visit @ http://alexandraoranotherrett.blogspot.com/2012/03/experience-with-bamboo-brace.html @http://alexandraoranotherrett.blogspot.com/2012/01/painting-with-bamboo-braces.html .

  • I should add that the owners of the company are very caring and very interested by the need and difficulties Rett Girls are experiencing. You can meet with them @www.facebook.com/TheBambooBrace
